About Me

Hii, I'm rei (AKA LordOfTrident), a teen hobbyist programmer. I enjoy low level programming, music, art, and maybe some other stuff too.

My favorite programming language is C, and my first real programming language was Pascal. My current main OS is Arch Linux (i use arch btw) with Hyprland.

Brief History of Hobbies

Guitar

At around the age of 12-ish, I started playing guitar. I liked music (mostly metal and old rock at the time, where guitar was the dominant instrument), so I wanted to try playing. I taught myself some songs and just played for myself. My progress was slow due to the fact that I didn't take it too seriously, so I never paid for any guitar courses or learnt music theory. Over time, I just memorized the most common chords and some basic terminology. I still play almost daily when I feel like it. Sometimes I record covers or even try making my own music.

Art

I loved drawing ever since I was a small kid. I used to draw comics, stories inspired by games I played, alternative universes and more. My art teacher liked my art and thought I had potential, though I never took drawing too seriously, just like guitar. It was, and still is, just a thing I do occasionally whenever I feel like it. At a later age, I started creating logos and designs using Paint.NET. After switching to Linux, I started using Gimp, and currently It's my favorite graphics program.

Programming

I got introduced to programming through making batch files. At around 11, I learnt Scratch in school and I really enjoyed it, so my dad bought me a Pascal book. After Pascal, I switched to C++, which led me to discover other languages, such as Lua, Javascript, C, and more.
